Monty Python's snack bar menu is a thing of beauty

The iconic Monty Python crew put on the first of their live reunion shows last night, and even though many might think they're flogging a dead parrot, here's clear evidence they've still got a sense of humour.

The snack bar menu is a wonderful thing for fans of the show to see.

I'll have the spam sausage spam egg and spam, please.

If you don't get it, then you haven't watched enough Python. Best get on that - starting with the famous sketch in which a café owner is a little over-enthusiastic about the inescapable mystery meat.

Also, today, we learned that email spam is named after this sketch. According to a 1999 Northwestern University document:

"During that sketch, the word "spam" takes over each item offered on the menu until the entire dialogue consists of nothing but "spam spam spam spam spam spam and spam."

This so closely resembles what happens when mass unsolicited mail and posts take over mailing lists and netnews groups that the term has been pushed into common usage in the Internet community.

Mind-blowing stuff.
