McKenzie ‘Kenzie’ Carey is a 12-year-old from Georgia in the US and she loves performing in pageants. She's even won a few.

Sadly, when she was 18 months old, Kenzie was diagnosed with Mitochondrial disease. The disease is life-threatening and it has damaged her brain, heart and skeletal muscles - leaving her unable to walk or speak.

This hasn’t stopped Kenzie from doing what she loves, however, and she has been performing in pageants since she was five years old. For the talent section, she usually gets a little bit of help - from her completely amazing dad, Mike.

Speaking to WRTV, Kenzie’s mother Tammy Carey explained what the pageants mean to them.

“My husband started doing these dances with her to inspire people and she has inspired people and touched peoples hearts from all over the world,” said Tammy.

“Pageants give her the same opportunity as other children.”

This is... too much. Mike, you're our hero.
