Boy fakes own kidnapping to get out of dentist visit
Ok, so, going to the dentist is NO fun. But this seems a bit extreme.
A kid in the Alpine village of St. Gervais in France to get out of going to the dentist.
French newspaper Midi Libre said that the boy was picked up by police after they spotted him hiding in the village.
When asked why he was hiding, the boy told police that he had been abducted from the nearby town of Bagnols while on his way to his dentist appointment. His 'kidnapper' stopped to ask for directions before forcing him into his car and speeding off. The boy said he was able to escape when the car stopped in St Gervais.
He even gave the police a detailed description of the man - 'European-looking, aged in his thirties, of muscular build" and, of course, "with a vertical scar on his right cheek".
His 'captor' was also wearing a black t-shirt and light jeans. The police naturally took the report very seriously and quickly drew up a sketch matching the description.
Detectives investigated the case for a MONTH before they became suspicious about the claim.
It was only after they investigated CCTV footage from Bagnols that they suspected something wasn't quite right.
When questioned again, the boy admitted that he had invented the story because he had been afraid to go to his dentist appointment.
No word yet on what if any consequences he will face. Or, more importantly, what his parents had to say about the whole thing.
Bet he wished he'd just gone to the dentist now...
