VIDEO: Dublin Zoo elephant finds novel way to scratch her itchy ear

You know that feeling when have an itch but you just can't quite reach it. Yasmin the elephant came up with a clever way to deal with it.

You know that feeling when have an itch but you just can't quite reach it. And then when you finally get it, it's the BEST feeling in the entire world.

Well. Yasmin, one of the Dublin Zoo Asian elephants, came up with a novel way to solve that problem - she picked up a long, thin stick with her trunk and skilfully scratched her ear.

Clever!

Dublin Zoo said they have never seen this kind of behavour - caught on their infrared camera -from any of their elephants before.

Meanwhile the matriarch of the Dublin herd, Bernhardine, celebrated her 30th birthday yesterday.
