Three-year-old asked to leave KFC because her face was 'disturbing customers'

"Does this face look scary to you?"

A little girl was asked to leave a KFC branch in Jackson, Mississippi because her face was apparently disturbing the other customers.

KFC have since apologised to three-year-old Victoria Wilcher, who has some scarring on her face after a pitbull attack last April. KFC have also made a donation of $30,000 to help with her medical bills.

The story went viral after Victoria's family posted this photo - asking if her face was really that scary - to Victoria's Victories, a Facebook page dedicated to her ongoing recovery from the attack.

As well as facial scarring, the little girl lost her right eye and suffered a broken jaw, cheekbones and nose after being attacked by three of her grandfather's pitbulls. The dogs were immediately put down.

Victoria's grandmother, Kelly Mullins, had brought her to KFC as she was hungry after a doctor's appointment. They ordered some mashed potatoes as, due to her injuries, Victoria can only eat soft food.

Kelly explained to CBS News what happened next.

"I sat down at the table and started feeding her and the lady came over and said we'd have to live because we were disturbing her customers. Victoria's face was disturbing the other customers."

Victoria cried all the way home, Mullins said, and is now embarassed by her appearance.

"She won't even look in the mirror anymore. When we go to a store, she doesn't even want to get out of the car."

In a statement, KFC said they are investigating the incident.

"As soon as we learned of the report on Friday, we immediately began an investigation. This kind of hurtful and disrespectful action would not be tolerated by KFC."

"Regardless of the outcome of our investigation, we have apologized to Victoria's family and are committed to assisting them. We are making a $30,000 donation to help with her medical bills. "

"The entire KFC family is behind Victoria and her recovery."

Hopefully, the money will go some way to making Victoria's recover a little easier.
