Paris bridge partially collapses under weight of thousands of 'love locks'

Couples have been coming to the Pont Des Artes since 2008 to attach the locks as a symbol of their undying love. Now they've gone and broken it.

It's meant to be a symbol of everlasting love; instead it has become a serious safety risk for Parisian residents and tourists.

The Pont des Artes has attracted lovers from around the world since, oh, 2008. Thousands of couples visit each year to seal their love by attaching a lock with their names on it to the railing and throwing the key in the Seine.
