'30 Rock' star Tracy Morgan is "more responsive" but remains in a critical condition after a car crash over the weekend.
He is expected to spend several weeks in hospital after suffering injuries including a broken leg, nose and several broken ribs.
The sustained the injuries after the limo-bus he was travelling in overturned when it and a Walmart van were in collision on the New Jersey Turnpike.
The 45-year-old comedian, who is currently in intensive care, underwent surgery on his broken leg yesterday and is now a little more responsive, his representative told TMZ.com.
The spokesperson added: "His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans."
Tracy was airlifted to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick, along with his friend and travelling partner Ardie Fuqua.
Four other people were inside the truck with Tracy and Ardie, and six vehicles in total were involved in the crash.
Another passenger, James McNair, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Walmart van, Kevin Roper, has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.
Tracy, also known for his role on 'Saturday Night Live', was scheduled to perform at a casino in Dover, Delaware, on Friday night and was believed to be travelling back home to Bergen County, New Jersey, when the collision happened.
