The Mountain and the 3-year-old: Celebrity titan dresses up for birthday party

You may know him as The Mountain - the fearless, monstrous slayer of men from Game of Thrones – but Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson is actually a gentle giant with a heart of gold.

A newly-uploaded Icelandic television report shows the strongman - who at 6'9" and 191kg is every bit as massive as he appears on TV – spending time with a three-year-old friend of his.

Björnsson, you see, decided to put his bulk to a creative use - getting himself body-painted as the giant superhero, the Hulk, for a child's birthday party.

Captions are available in the YouTube embed, as the broadcast itself is in Icelandic.

It doesn't go entirely to plan, however, as Kristof is slightly terrified of the green monstrosity to start.

The video in question is an archive piece, which has been uploaded to YouTube in light of Björnsson's new-found fame, following his appearance in the most recent dramatic episode of Game of Thrones , "The Mountain and the Viper".

And Hafþór Björnsson truly is as strong as he looks. Lifting a grown man over his head, as seen in this clip, is nothing - YouTube abounds with videos of his strongman career in which he bends iron, lifts insane weights, and carries vehicles.

Hafþór is also the runner-up in this year's World's Strongest Man competition, and has ambitions to take home the title in the near future – and still has time for the little fans. Bravo.
