Teenager holds breath driving in tunnel, faints causing three car pileup
We’ve all played that game. You’re in a car that’s going through a tunnel and everyone tries to hold their breath until you make it to the other side.
Harmless fun, right? Not if you’re the driver, it seems.
A 19-year-old learned this the hard way when he fainted while holding his breath as he drove through a tunnel, causing a three-car crash. Four people were injured though, thankfully, none of them seriously.
Daniel J. Calhon lost conciousness driving through a tunnel close to Portland, Oregon on Sunday. His car drifted across the road before colliding with an oncoming SUV. Both cars crashed into the tunnel walls and a pick-up truck then hit Calhon’s car.
Calhon was cited for reckless driving and reckess endangerment. The Oregon State Police were less than impressed with the incident.

Let’s keep the holding-your-breath-through-the-tunnel game for passengers only from now on, folks.
