Google celebrates Rubik’s Cube 40th anniversary with interactive Doodle

Our day has been completely wasted.

Google celebrated the Rubik’s Cube turning 40 by putting an interactive, fully functional cube on the home page. In other unrelated news, productivity declined worldwide this morning.

Rubik’s Cube are, by all accounts, very frustrating. But what’s even more frustrating is when other people solve them with little to no effort

Come on guys, it’s only been a few hours! They weren’t faster than this kid though who solved a cube in five seconds.

The mechanical puzzle was invented in 1974 by a Hungarian professor of architecture, Erno Rubik.

He licensed it to the Ideal Toy Corp in 1980 and, by January 2009, more than 350 million units had been sold worldwide, making it one of the best biggest-selling toy of all time.
