Cat saves little boy from savage dog attack

A little boy attacked by a dog while playing found himself saved from an unlikely helper: his pet cat.

Warning: after the 45 second mark, the video contains graphic images of the dog bite wound on the boy's leg.

Caught on home surveillance video by the boy's father, Roger Triantafilo, the clip shows four-year-old Jeremy being attacked by a neighbour's dog in Bakersfield, California.

After being pulled off his bicycle to the ground, the dog had no chance to do any further damage, as the family house cat, Tara, barrels into the canine at high-speed, chasing him off.

Local news reports that the dog will be put down, and Jeremy is doing just fine, according to his family.
