Footage uploaded to Youtube this week shows the scary reality of being right inside a rampaging tornado.

On April 28 an EF-2 tornado tore through the town of Tupelo, Mississippi leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.

St Luke's United Methodist Church before the tornado hit

Deadly tornados have killed at least 35 people in the US throughout the month of April and left thousands homeless.

This security camera video from the St Luke's United Methodist Church captures the moment the natural wonder passes over the church playground (skip to 1.40 to see it start to hit).

It was posted to Youtube by technical director of the church Brad Bullock who added that it will take 18 months to a couple of years to repair the damage.

“It really kinda brought things back, seeing it a week later. The building was really damaged. About 50 percent of the front of the building is gone,” Bullock told NBC News.
