American college kid accidently gets government drone in the post

Hmmm, I don't remember ordering a €250,000 drone from the US government

An American college student got a bit ofsurprise in the post when a government drone worth €250,000 was accidentally sent to his house.

The anonymous and presumably confused student posted pictures of the unexpected package to Reddit.

The pictures show the individual pieces of the Puma drone (used for environmental monitoring), the control panel and a piece of card with the address of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Aircraft Operations Center. The card also specifies that the drone is US federal property.

Vice ran an article on the situation and one of their reporters put the student in contact with someone at the NOAA.

While they still have no idea how a random college student received the drone parts, the NOAA are probably super relieved to have them back.
