Seriously, would you swim in this?

Baths dyed yellow in honour of football team look like giant pool of pee

Some bright spark at Wolverhampton City Council had the idea to host a 'family pool party' at the city's Central Baths on Sunday, to drum up business for the facility and to celebrate Wolverhampton Wanderers being crowned League One champions last month.

As part of the celebrations, the pool was dyed to match the famous Wolves' strip - a hue officially called 'old gold' but which might more accurately be dubbed 'p*ss yellow'.

Yes, that's right - somebody thought it a good idea to dye a swimming pool the colour of urine.

"The council is extremely proud of Wolves' achievements this season and we wanted to put on a real family celebration event," spokesman Peter Connelly told the BBC.

"We thought it would be really fun to dye the water."

As may have been foreseen, some eyebrows were raised at the colour choice.

Although posters on the council's Facebook page insisted a great day was had by all.

"It was a bit of fun and a little weird," wrote Penny Rowley, while local mum Debra Jones said: "I took my kids and we all loved it."

Of course they loved it… they could get away with weeing in the water.
