These teens from Galway decided to give weary travellers in Düsseldorf airport a special treat.

The Galway to Altenberg youth group travel to Germany every year for the ‘Altenberger Licht’ which is a Catholic festival.

The 12 youngsters from Loughrea are led by Stephanie Healy who captured the video on her phone.

The gang performed for 3,000 people at the Altenberg Cathedral during the event and were travelling home through Düsseldorf airport last night when they decided to break into song.

Keagan Ford took the lead on guitar and they were joined by another Irish troop who were also on the way home along with some enthusiastic new German fans.

“When we were done we were approached by some Germans and they asked us to play ‘Galway Girl’, so we did,” Stephanie told us.
