Hannigan, Hansard, Brady all to perform at Higgins concert on UK visit

Lisa Hannigan, Glen Hansard, Conor O'Brien and Paul Brady are all to participate in a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of President Michael D Higgins state visit to England.

Other acts announced for the Ceiliuradh include Imelda May, Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny.

The night is being billed as an evening of music, spoken word and dance and it will be live-streamed to a global audience.

Writers Joseph O'Connor and Olivia O'Leary, actress Fiona Shaw and television presenter Dermot O'Leary are also included on the line up.

Announcing the programme, Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan says the occasion offers us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our exceptional and long-standing cultural connections with Britain.
