Huge support for Majella O'Donnell's #nomakeupselfie

Majella O'Donnell has joined the #nomakeupselfie movement on twitter, raising funds and awareness for the Irish Cancer Society.

Majella O'Donnell has been told she is a remarkable inspiration to so many cancer sufferers, after she posted a #nomakeupselfie of herself on twitter.

Fifty-three-year-old Majella had a double mastectomy last year, and shaved her head live on the Late Late Show to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society. Her brave, extremely public act raised €600,000 for the charity.

Majella, who has two children and is married to Daniel O'Donnell, began chemotherapy in September.

She said too she "didn’t give a fiddler's" if the nomakeupselfie was unflattering, though many who commented on twitter reassured her she looked great.

The Irish Cancer Society's Daffodil Day takes place this Friday, March 28.
