Shooting is expected to start next month on a film of Brooklyn by award-winning Wexford author Colm Toibin.

The novel will be adapted for screen by Nick Hornby, who is famous for films including About a Boy, High Fidelity and Fever Pitch.

The movie will star Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson, Emily Cohen and Julie Walters.

The multi-million euro production will be shot in Ireland and Canada.

Filming is expected to begin in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, at the end of the month.
