Revenge (RTE Two, 9.55pm – 10.45pm)

The wedding of the century has finally arrived and Emily’s master plan is poised to go off without a hitch until enemies unite, bringing new complications and leading to dire consequences.

Meanwhile, Conrad finds Lydia’s journal and believing she’s planning to take him down, orders her to scram.

Sara lets Jack know that she has fallen in love with Daniel all over again.

CONTEST: New: Hair (BBC THREE, 9pm – 10pm)

In a converted warehouse in the East End of London, eight people come together to take part in Britain’s first amateur hairdressing competition.

“Hair’s my life really,” explains one pink-locked contestant.

“Hair’s been my passion for a long, long time,” says another.

Over six weeks they face a series of challenges which will test their skills to the limit.

Judge Denise McAdam has more than three decades experience styling Royal hair, while globetrotting styler Alain Pichon, whose clients include David Beckham, will also be giving his opinion on the wannabe superstar snippers.

Hundreds of people applied to take part in the show, but this lucky eight were deemed good enough to make the final cut.

Looking more at home here than he did on the first series of The X Factor USA, host Steve Jones guides us, and the nervous competitors through the proceedings.

Their first challenge? A hairstyle with a quiff.

FILM: Stardust (Film4, 6.35pm – 9pm)

(2007) Hapless shop assistant Tristan resolves to bring back a fallen star for the girl of his dreams (who agrees to marry him if he completes the task).

His journey leads him into a magical, parallel world, where Tristan captures a beautiful woman and embarks on the journey to his own land. However, their progress is halted by an evil witch – among others.

Despite a relatively low budget, this is a charming slice of fantasy fun, with a pre-Homeland Claire Danes adding bags of sex appeal as the heroine.

The star-studded cast would be enough to attract almost any film fan, but this is one of those rare movies that has just as much substance as style. The witty script cracks along at a great pace.

Starring: Charlie Cox, Claire Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert De Niro, Mark Strong, Sienna Miller, Peter O’Toole, Ian McKellen, Ricky Gervais.

FILM: Enemy at the Gates (Film4, 9pm – 11.35pm)

(2001) Epic war movie of the Battle of Stalingrad favouring spectacle over emotion.

Russian political officer Danilov (Joseph Fiennes) makes soldier Vassili Zaitsev (Jude Law) the face of the Russia’s battle against the Nazis.

When the Germans send marksman Major Konig (Ed Harris) to kill the hero, the pair engage in a taut battle of cunning.

Jean-Jacques Annaud is one of the most intriguing directors of his generation.

In the early 1980s he made Quest for Fire, a stunning dawn of time drama that paved the way for a string of other fascinating projects.

Starring: Jude Law, Ed Harris, Rachel Weisz, Joseph Fiennes, Bob Hoskins, Ron Perlman.
