Heartbreaking pictures of an animal rescue centre in Kerry destroyed by storm
Yesterday's bad weather hit the Animal Heaven Animal Rescue Centre (AHAR) in Co Kerry pretty bad.
The storm hit AHAR in Castleisland and destroyed three of their sheds.

Their stables and dog runs are gone. This huge shed that could house 20 horses was crushed last night by the hurricane-force winds.

A roof from one of their sheds blew into a neighbour's field - three farms away.

Miraculously, none of the animals were injured and the Tralee Civil Defence waded in with their help to move them out of the danger zone.

They had to deal with 24 terrified foals and dogs.

AHAR put the call out on Facebook for volunteers to help out and in they came in their droves.

No wonder, since the centre has been helping all unwanted animals and birds including wildlife and all cruelty cases for almost a quarter of a century.

The volunteers dodged chunks of sheet metal and transport crates to transfer the animals to the safety of an arena.

They still need volunteers to help in the clear-up, so if you're down that neck of the woods, go along.
Otherwise, if you want to help the centre's founder Suzanne Gibbons to rebuild, text AHAR to 50300 to donate €4.
