Unlikely BFFs of the day - 50 Cent and Meryl Streep

The duo get up close at personal at a ball game in New York.

A bunch of celebs were courtside in Madison Square Garden yesterday as the LA Lakers took on the New York Knicks.

Unlikely seating partners were Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson - aka notorious gangster rapper of 'In Da Club' fame (NINE TIMES!) and none other than Meryl Streep, aka the greatest actress of this or any generation.

And far from stilted small-talk about the on-court action, it turns out the two got on like a house on fire.

"Man I got a good life," said Fiddy in this photo posted to Instagram, while reports said the pair laughed and held hands during the game.

"Things got a little gangsta," Fiddy (38) said. Um, quite.

There wasn't any funny business afoot (or funny bidness, as Curtis might have it) though, as Meryl (64) was also accompanied by Don Gummer, her husband of 36 years.

The Knicks beat the Lakers 110-103, hoop dreamers.
