Ennis to erect sign to Ireland's largest lingerie section
Remember that golden piece of comedy in the Father Ted Christmas special, where Ted and many other priests get lost in Ireland's largest lingerie section?
Of course you do, because we've all memorised every episode.
Well, it's Dunnes Stores in Ennis, and the local council has passed a motion to erect a sign in honour of its fictional accolade.
Cllr Brian Meaney told Clare FM he was a big fan of the show - as are most people his age and plenty younger - and that he has himself accidentally become lost in the labyrinthine lingerie location.

"What I'm trying to do is get a sign on Friar's Walk which will identify that - [and] perhaps it might be poetic licence to say 'Ireland's largest lingerie store" when in fact it isn't - but that this episode of Father Ted did take place there," he said.
Meaney said he'd been in touch with Dunnes Stores to try and have the shop added to the "Ted Tours" for tourists - but the retailer just isn't interested.
"I have written to them [but] I have never had any further communication from them ... they don't advertise it."
And it was revealed by the organiser of Ted Tours that it's now the fruit and veg section. And, she says, it might cause "confusion and disappointment" to be standing next to piles of lettuce.
Oh.
Still, Meaney isn't deterred. "We need to take a small bit of an advantage of the differences that we can exploit," he said.
And with the support of Ennis Town Council, who passed the motion, it looks like he's won the day – though he was encouraged by another council member to "undertake further on-site research".
Go on, my son.
