KC leaving national radio to return to Cork's RedFM

Keith Cunningham - better known to radio listeners as KC - is leaving Today FM to return to Cork.

The presenter, who currently hosts a national lunchtime radio show at the Dublin-based station, is leaving his job of three years to return to RedFM, where he began his career as a late-night DJ in 2002.

He will now host the breakfast show at the Cork station, in addition to taking on the role of Programme Controller.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of leading the radio station forward and being back in the fold of my RedFM family," he said in a statement.

"I loved the opportunities afforded me at Today FM but my heart has always remained on Leeside and I’m thrilled to be returning to a radio station that I’ve always been passionate about.”

Diarmuid O'Leary, CEO of RedFM, said he thought the presenter's return was a "very positive move" for the station, which is seeking to expand its audience.
