Simpsons LEGO is a thing now. Well, soon.

Simpsons LEGO sets are coming later this year (woo-hoo!). Here's the first pics of what they will look like.

Simpsons LEGO is a thing now. Well, soon.

There are a lot of LEGO fans out there in the wide world, and a lot of Simpsons fans. So we guess that some kind of a tie-in was inevitable, and here it is.

It was actually announced in August that LEGO would be introducing Simpsons-themed sets in 2014, and the first pictures of what the 'Simpson House' at 742 Evergreen Terrace will look like have purportedly appeared online.

The leaked image was uploaded to a LEGO fans' forum and shows the house set - with over 2,500 pieces - and six minifigs including the entire Simpsons family and neighbourino Ned Flanders, looking remarkably like Walter White.

Some commenters have said that the set is a clever fake - citing anomalies such as the fact that Maggie appears to be carrying an Uzi (LEGO are strict about not including representations of modern weapons in their sets).

However given previous leaks - a couple of sellers tried to flog Simpsons LEGO minifigs on eBay last month - and the fact that the Danish company has previous confirmed that the licence is a done deal - we're leaning towards legit.

And besides, Maggie could be carrying a cordless drill, not an Uzi.

However, real or fake, it's unlikely that you'll be able to pick up the sets on the shelves of your local Smyths any time soon. The toymaker has previously said that the sets will be initially available in small batches, with subsequent production to depend on demand, directly from the lego.com web shop, where collectors and fans typically pick up rare and limited-run stuff (things like this lovely Sydney Opera House set).

If you are interested in owning one of these, expect to pay for the privilege. Forum commentators reckoned on a price tag of up to $300 for the Simpsons house, based on the number of pieces and historical pricing for licensed sets.
