Corrie character to be given stark ultimatum by girlfriend

'Coronation Street' character Michelle Connor wants Steve McDonald to have a vasectomy.
The pub owner - played by Simon Gregson - is left distraught when his girlfriend (played by Kym Marsh) orders him to go under the knife so that they cannot have any children together.
Gregson said: "He's thinking there's no way he's doing that. It's going to hurt and he doesn't like the thought of not ever being able to have kids again."
However, their relationship is rocked even further when the brunette beauty insists they can't have sex until he has had the operation.
Gregson explained: "He's not a happy bunny about that but he decides to turn the tables round and tells her he's not having sex with her either. It doesn't have the same effect on Michelle though - she couldn't really care."
The cabbie is thrown into even more emotional turmoil when he discovers his attractive college friend Andrea Beckett (Hayley Tamaddon) is attracted to him and has a motive behind her flirtatious behaviour.
However, Gregson thinks his alter-ego won't turn to Andrea when Michelle pushes him to have the snip.
Speaking to Soap Squawk, he said: "I don't think [he'll go running to Andrea]. He's kicked off about it but it's one of those little arguments that won't last long."
