Whoah - Dramatic footage shows bolt of lightning striking Clonmel church

Were you awake to see the lightning storm this morning? One photographer in Tipperary was.

The storm, which cut off power to over 7,000 homes in the south of the country, was captured on video by Jonathan Ryan, who shot the below clip of a bolt of lightning striking St Marys' Church in Clonmel.

"I work as an out of hours doctor so was awake at that hour, and grabbed my camera when the storm began," Jonathan told breakingnews.ie.

"It was too dangerous to go out in the actual storm but I managed to get the below bit of footage, which is quite dramatic."
