Joey and Amy 'dating'

'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' stars Joey Essex and Amy Willerton are officially a couple.

The jungle lovebirds have confirmed they are dating following weeks of sexual tension in the Australian outback during their time on the reality show.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Joey, 23, confirmed the romance and is quoted as saying: "Our first date was amazing ... I'm very happy. Look at her. She's beautiful."

The couple cemented their new relationship by attending the 'I'm a Celebrity' wrap party together on Monday and enjoyed their first date over a fast food feast of chicken nuggets and fries from McDonald's.

Amy said: "We've had a lovely night together. The party was amazing. They know how to have a good time here."

Quizzed about their first date meal, the 21-year-old beauty added: "We had 20 McNuggets, two Big Macs, fries, apple pies... the works. It was lovely."

Joey previously admitted he had feelings for Amy and there had been plenty of "sexual tension" between them in the jungle.

He said: "Amy is real caring, she's easy-going and she's cool. She's a really nice girl and I proper like her - like, really like her.

"We were always having a flirt and a cuddle, and saying, 'Do you want to go down to the creek for a bath?' and then going to the shower and mucking about and that."

"There was sexual tension but we couldn't do anything because there isn't any privacy in there. There are 12 people, cameras and millions of people watching."
