Three Irish festivals shortlisted at European Festival Awards

Groove Festival is one of three Irish festivals to be shortlisted this morning by Festival Awards Europe.

Groove 2013, which took place in July at Killruddery Estate in Bray, Co Wicklow, was headlined by James Morrison and Imelda May and has been named on the "Best New Festival" list

Dublin's Camden Crawl got two nominations, one in the 'Best Indoor Festival' category and one in the 'Best Small Festival' category which also saw Indiependence get a nomination.

The nominations follow both a public and jury vote.

Groove Festival promoter Roger Duggan of Cable Music said: "To be the only Irish Festival making the category shortlist this year is a great honour. The entire team are thrilled following all their hard work in making Groove 2013 a very special Festival. What an exciting debut year for us!"

The awards ceremony will take place on January 15, 2014, at Eurosonic Noorderslag in Holland.
