Victoria: David and I have had our 'ups and downs'

Victoria Beckham admits she and husband David have had "ups and downs" in their marriage.

The singer-turned-fashion designer has been married to David for 14 years and she says they've had to endure their fair share of tribulations like any other couple but they have always had respect for one another.

Speaking in the new issue of Paris Vogue magazine, she said: "David and I have been through so much together. We've had our ups and downs but we're so proud of each other."

Victoria - who has guest edited this issue of the magazine - has been the biggest supporter of her husband David's soccer career and she has felt privileged to enjoy his sporting successes with him and their children, Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 12, Cruz, nine, and two-year-old Harper.

The 39-year-old star added: "We have always been - and I include the children in this - amazingly happy about the success David has achieved. All those matches where we stood cheering on the terraces."

David, 38, retired from soccer in May after winning the Ligue 1 title in France with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

His illustrious career included trophy-laden spells at Manchester United, Real Madrid, Los Angeles Galaxy and A.C. Milan and he also captained the English national side.
