RIP Brian Griffin.
Our favourite talking cartoon labrador went to the great dog park in the sky last night after he was hit by a car in the latest Family Guy episode broadcast in the US.
Here's how it went down…
Some have speculated that the killing off of Brian - arguably the show's best and most popular character, is a deliberate act of sabotage by Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane, who is reported to be growing weary of the long-running ratings-winner, now in its 11th season.

"Part of me thinks that Family Guy should have already ended," McFarlane, who also voices Brian, was previously quoted as saying by The Hollywood Reporter.
"I think seven seasons is about the right lifespan for a TV series."
Meanwhile, Brian has been replaced by a new talking dog named Vinnie - voiced by Italian-American actor Tony Sirico, best known as Paulie Walnuts in the Sopranos.
All that said, we wouldn't rule out a return to the show for Brian in the future. Because that's how McFarlane rolls.
For the moment, let's watch Brian as we remember him best.
Happy trails, little buddy.
