VIDEO: Incredible helmet cam footage of mid-air collision
This. Is. Just. Nuts.
Yesterday we brought you the story of how two planes full of skydivers had collided in mid-air in the US over the weekend.
Now - seeing as several of those aboard were wearing helmet cams - incredible footage has emerged of the moment that the planes flew into each other, and what happened afterwards.
US news network NBC obtained the footage, which was broadcast last night on its Nightly News slot.

Compiled from footage made by five of the skydivers, it shows the heart-stopping moment that one of the Cessna 182 aircraft impacted the second, 12,000 feet in the air above Lake Superior, Wisconsin.

The film charts the chaotic tumble through the air of the skydivers amid blazing wreckage from one of the planes.

Incredibly, it also captures the moment that the pilot of the second plane landed safely, despite having sustained damage in the crash.
All nine skydivers survived, with just minor injuries sustained by the pilot of the Cessna that lost its wing.
Officials with the US Federal Aviation Administration are still investigating the cause of the incident.
