Another legal setback for 'Desperate Housewives' star Sheridan

A Los Angeles judge has dismissed actress Nicollette Sheridan’s long-running lawsuit against ABC over her firing from the hit series 'Desperate Housewives'.
Judge Michael Stern ruled that Sheridan’s case could not proceed because the actress should have exhausted her claims to a labour commissioner before pursuing a trial.
Sheridan was seeking a retrial on her claim that she was fired from 'Desperate Housewives' because she complained that the show’s creator, Marc Cherry, hit her on the head in 2008 on the set.
A jury in 2012 was deadlocked 8-4 in Sheridan’s favour that ABC had retaliated against the actress.
Adam Levin, an attorney for ABC, said the network was pleased with the ruling.
Sheridan’s lawyers said they plan to appeal.
