Ultimate Irish flash mob takes over Galway
Picture the scene, you’re walking down Shop street in Galway and then the people around you start acting rather strangely.
Well that’s what faced shoppers this past weekend as a flash mob burst into a display of traditional Sean-nós dance out of nowhere.
As many as fifty dancers, in a wide range of age groups, wowed the gathering crowd with their display to promote the 116th Oireachtas Festival at the end of the month.
One of the dancers, Bridie Ruane from Ballinasloe, told the Connacht Tribune she was delighted with the performance: “It was absolutely fabulous, absolutely fantastic. They had no idea what was happening.
“It wasn’t a bit obvious to anyone that the dancers were milling around before. We couldn’t have got better weather. It came across as if it was rehearsed but it wasn’t but it really worked.”
For all over you interested in Sean-nós dancing here is how it is really done!
