Seven-year-old becomes Robin for a day

Holy heartwarming escapade, Batman!

Seven-year-old becomes Robin for a day

Here's a heartwarming story. Seven-year-old Alex Lelenoa is Batman's biggest fan, and got to spend a day cruising in the Batmobile – as the boy wonder Robin.

Alex suffers from leukaemia, and the Make-a-Wish Foundation pulled out all the stops, from helicopter rides to the batmobile and pyrotechnics, to give the kid the time of this life.

Local media KTLA-TV caught some footage of the caped crusaders in action after Robin received his uniform from the Anaheim Police Department.

The adventure included rounding up some evildoers, taking a helicopter ride to find the Riddler's hideout, and a genuine 1960s batmobile.

Alex and Batman eventually apprehended the Riddler and his henchman in a showdown that, according to broadcaster ABC, was fuelled by fireworks and pyrotechnics, before bundling the criminals into a SWAT team vehicle.

The day was rounded off with a trip back to the police headquarters, where a 200-person party was thrown for Alex to celebrate his endeavours.
