Dad wears short shorts to teach daughter a lesson in modesty

Not entirely sure if Irish Dads will employ this simple but effective technique to encourage their daughters' to cover up, but in any case it has impact.

Tired of asking his 17-year-old to 'get back up those stairs and change', this Utah Dad decided to dress like his daughter in a bid to show her the meaning of his motto, "modest is hottest".

After refusing to change what her mother called "slutty shorts", Scott Mackintosh got creative and cut his jeans up into what can only be described as Daisy Duke shorts.

Much to his daughter Myley's embarrassment, Mr Mackintosh continued his fashion campaign at public family outings.

"I know it sounds weird to try and embarrass but I wanted her to know that she is of great worth."

After seeing the funny side of it she posted the images on Tmublr and they have already garnered over 500,000 views.

Did she learn a lesson?

"I mostly learned a lesson of how much he loved me…it got a point across," she said in an interview with ABC news.
