Coronation Street's Stella Price will turn to drink when her daughter falls for her ex-boyfriend.
The Rovers Return landlady – who is played by Michelle Collins – will struggle to cope when her former flame Jason Grimshaw (Ryan Thomas) starts getting steamy with Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), and she becomes "very vulnerable" in her attempts to deal with the situation.
Speaking at the TV Choice Awards at the Dorchester Hotel in central London last night, Catherine told BANG Showbiz: "Stella is very shocked, she finds it very difficult. She ends up drinking a little bit too much.
"It's quite interesting to see that side of Stella become very vulnerable because she's such a strong character. There's some really good stuff."
Catherine was delighted when she first heard about the storyline and loved acting out saucy scenes with Ryan.
She added: "Eva is getting quite a lot of Jason. It's been really nice, they've written it really well. It's not just a fling. They really do fall for each other.
"And Ryan is fab. Working with Ryan Thomas is great, so I'm going to be really busy.
"We've been mates for ages so I feel dead comfortable doing sexy scenes with him. They're not embarrassing."
