U2 frontman sings 'Stand By Me' at wedding of billionaire's granddaughter. As you do.

Anyone who's in a band or 'a bit musical' will be familiar with the scenario…

You're enjoying a pint at a family gathering when suddenly a microphone or guitar is thrust in your direction and the assembled crowd exhorts you to "give us an aul' song".

It even happens to Bono, as this footage from a wedding last weekend in Omaha, Nebraska shows.

Of course, it wasn't just any old wedding - getting hitched were Emily Greenberg, granddaughter of US billionaire investor Warren Buffet, and new husband Tom Threlkeld.

The Omaha World Herald reported that the performance took place in front of 285 wedding guests.

Buffet, who is estimated to be worth $40bn, and Bono have become close while working together on similar philanthropic causes.

Emily, a huge U2 fan, was reportedly thrilled when her granddad persuaded the singer to get onstage.
