Twerking #fail video is twerking #fake

Just as we suspected. It was all a clever hoax, masterminded by that devious Jimmy Kimmel.

Remember the 'Worst Twerk Fail EVER' video that we posted over the weekend?

Purporting to show what can happen when one girl's attempt to make a saucy vid for her boyfriend goes very, very wrong, we said at the time that we suspected it was staged.

"Hmmm… we call staged," we said.

"But funny staged, so that's alright."

There were the tell-tale signs - the fact that it was the uploader's first and only video, the weird thing with the music volume being lowered just as the 'accomplice' came through the door, the 'wearing track pants in a sexy video' contradiction plus… who on earth twerks upside down against a door?

Well, we were right.

It's been revealed that the clip - which has notched over 9m YouTube views - was a skit for US comedy show Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Kimmel made the reveal on his show broadcast in the US last night, tweeting afterwards:

Kimmel also unveiled 'Caitlin Heller' as a little-known actress/stuntwoman by the name of Daphne Avalon (yes, of course that's your real name).
