Radio heavyweights set to join battle

Never mind Bale to real, the real surprise of this summer's transfer season was Newstalk's audacious swoop for Pat Kenny.
The radio kingpin kicks off his new show at 10am this morning and has been urging listeners to 'move the dial', while back over on RTÉ Radio 1 his successor in the morning slot, Seán O'Rourke, is also nervously clearing his throat and checking his tie in the mirror.
Before battle was joined we got an inkling of how both shows view social media as a frontline - with each production team tweeting rival Twitpics of their stars getting ready.
O'Rourke has pieces lined up with Hans Blix on the legitimacy of military action in Syria and Joe Schmidt on taking on one of the biggest jobs in world rugby, while Kenny has something of a coup lined up, with Ivan Yates set to talk about his year in Welsh financial wilderness.
Time will tell who wins the radio war… who will you be tuning in to?
