Giant boulder misses car by mere inches
Tropical Storm Kong-Rey battered Taiwan at the weekend, dumping more than 500mm of rain on the heavily-populated island and causing widespread flooding.
In the north-east city of Keelung, the rains triggered an avalanche that dumped thousands of tons of mud, rubble and boulders from a cliff face onto a busy road below.
This incredible dashcam footage filmed on Saturday, August 31 shows one motorist's lucky escape as a giant boulder - easily the size of your average suburban semi - tumbled onto the road below, missing his car by mere inches.
The below GIF shows the moment of impact, with the boulder's momentum almost tipping it over onto the vehicle.
Whoah.
A second clip shows the aftermath of the incident, clearly illustrating just how close the driver came to being pancaked.
We strongly advise that man to buy a lottery ticket, stat.
