Electric Picnic announces Body and Soul lineup
A host of acts have been confirmed for the Body and Soul section of this year’s Electric Picnic festival.
Drawn from around the globe, the eclectic “village” generally features the more niche artists ripe for discovery by wandering revellers.
Among the diverse selection of artists to play will be Skip&Die, a live fusion of South African rhythms and electronic beats, as well as Icelandic, Scandinavian and Nordic talent in the form of Samaris, HK119, Fallulah, Frida Sundemo.
They line up alongside Irish favourites such as Le Galaxie, Mother DJs, Daithí, R.S.A.G., Jennifer Evans and Donal Dineen.
The Earthship stage will feature some familiar names from home and abroad, including: John Daly, Outboxx live with Naomi Jeremy, Kelly Twins, Colm K, RudyTrixX, Laoise Nolan, Little Rivers, Lumigraph, Réalta, Shane Linehan, Nightflight, Mother DJs, Adultrock, Unknown, Lisa McLoughlin, Ana Gog, Torann Drummers, Myles Manley, Paddy Hanna, Sabrina Dinan, Budffalo Woman, Tig Linn, The Amazing Few, Strange Passion presents SM Corporation and Choice, Bunoscionn’s Tradside Of The Moon, Richie Kaboogie, Altered Hours and Unscene Music Collective Showcase
This year will also feature a new stage curated by BLOCK T - offering a platform for emerging theatre, performance art and fresh sounds; the Bog Cottage’s Seaweed Baths and Steamy Sauna, the Little Beat Retreat, along with a custom-designed Radioshack, curated by Aidan Kelly - housing DJs and live graffiti artists.
The Peace Pagoda will host our pop up performance programme by day and ambient electronica by night, curated by Donal Dineen.
The Zen Gardens, Earth Spirit, Boundless Bathing Hot Tubs, Shamanic Healing, Indian Head Massage, Workshops, Warm Chai and Laughter Yoga will also return.
Organisers have also promised “a special guest or two tucked up our sleeves”.
The Electric Picnic arts and music festival takes place from Friday August 30 to Sunday September 1 in Stradbally, Co Laois. Tickets are available from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.
