Bebo - growing up?

Talk about addressing the elephant in the room.

Bebo - growing up?

The original founder of Bebo Michael Birch bought the social networking site back for $1m last month.

Yesterday he posted an online video about its reinvention and made no secret of some of the awkward issues surrounding its demise:

"It's growing up" - yup he said it, we didn't have to.

It’s competitors

When you log onto bebo you are instantly offered an option to share the news on Twitter and Facebook.

The 'whiteboard' option being a canvass for drawings of male genetalia.

The failure of the whiteboard in its bid to ward off fierce competition from Facebook is addressed head on. Actually a quarter of the amount of time in the video is dedicated to it.

"Over the past seven years over nearly one million of these pictures have been drawn across the site making it arguable the single biggest upholstery of illustrated cock-and-balls ever recorded"

"Wiping the slate clean"

The final scene in the video is appropriately enough a whiteboard sign advertising the 'new bebo' - just before it ends we see a man wiping off a picture of a penis which someone has drawn on the board.

Here's hoping we can still "Share the Luv"
