The annual sandcastle sculpting exhibition is on in Dublin Castle, and as usual, it's brilliant.

Coming to you from the Duthain Dealbh team, they're currently live-sculpting these impressive monoliths in front of tourists, and they'll stay there until the end of the month.

This year's theme is what Ireland can be proud of and happy with. First up, we see what looks like Abraham Lincoln, perhaps. Either that or a giant tyrant emerging from the ground.

Then there's this ingenious re-interpretation of the Claddagh ring. I hold your heart in my hands, indeed.

The third piece, however, is probably the nicest interpretation of the theme: a tribute to Irish mammies everywhere.

Duthain Dealbh means "Fleeting Sculpture" in Irish, and the team is made up of three Dublin art graduates: Daniel Doyle, Niall Magee and Alan Magee. They've been at this for 15 years.
