Chinese pet turtle addicted to cigarettes, becomes sensation

We all love animals doing cute, human-like things, like … er, smoking?

Chinese news media have been running stories about this snapping turtle, who goes through a ten-pack a day. Apparently, he gets agitated if he doesn't get his fix, and even follows his owner around when he's smoking.

With a little help from Google translate, it seems like the turtle was rather cranky, and when his owner flipped him over he found a chicken bone stuck in the animal's belly.

But when he tried to help, the turtle almost bit his finger off. So naturally, he stuck a cigarette in its mouth to calm it down.

Now, we're not sure how the animal calmed down when a poisonous stick on fire was thrust in its gob, but who are we to argue with Chinese news media?

He'd be much healthier with a pizza addiction like a normal turtle.
