Let's build a Death Star.

PayPal accidentally credit man with $92 quadrillion

Oh, the dizzying highs and lows of life. One day, you receive a bank statement for $92 quadrillion (yes, that's a real word), the next, you realise it was just a banking error.

Chris Reynolds uses PayPal quite a bit, selling items on eBay. But when his account statement came in with a credit balance of US $92,233,720,368,547,800, he couldn't quite remember selling anything that valuable.

To put that in context, the US National Debt is less than $17 trillion. In fact, Reynold's supposed fortune would be enough to build a real-life Death Star for a mere $852 quadrillion.

Totally worth it.

Unfortunately, it was (obviously) a clerical error.

But Reynolds, feeling cheerful, used his fictional new wealth to pay $30 to the Democratic party. And, once PayPal noticed the blunder, they donated an undisclosed amount to the charity of Reynold's choice, according to reports.

"I'm a very responsible guy," he told media. "I would pay the national debt down first. Then I would buy the Phillies [a baseball team], if I could get a great price."

For their part, PayPal released a statement saying is was "obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr Reynolds understood this was the case."

I'd be glad too if I were them.
