Finally: 'how to avoid hipsters' maps

Have you ever found yourself wandering around the trendiest neighbourhoods of London and San Francisco and thought: if only I could avoid all these hipsters!

Well, thanks to the internet, you can.

Online reviews site Yelp has come up with some pretty ingenious heat maps to show you how often a particular word is mentioned in reviews for different areas of a city - and one of those words is "hipster".

The new wordmap is set up for 14 cities around the globe, like London, Paris and New York. For now, you can't just enter any word you like. But imagine the possibilities.

(Another spot to avoid: "frat" in San Francisco)

What if you could search for heatmaps of "scanger" in Dublin, or "BYOB" in Cork? Or "trad" but not "tourist trap"?

The opportunities are endless.
