BOD dropped - a nation cries out
We woke up this morning only to find out our beloved BOD had been cruelly kicked out of the Lions team.
Boy did we fume!!!
Firstly the Leinster mob were at it…
You can feel the anger as the Luas pushes through Leinster's heartland this morning @RossOCK #BOD

There's an angry mob gathering outside Kiely's of Donnybrook #justiceforBOD

@jonathanhealy I reckon we'll all be cheering for the Aussies on Saturday!! #FweeBwian

Lions drop a World Class player in Brian O'Driscoll and the Wallabies bring one back in George Smith!!
— Bernard Jackman (@bernardjackman) July 3, 2013
With Bernard adding his tuppence on Newstalk this morning.
Clare man and former Lion Keith Wood was not one bit impressed with Gatland's decision.
Even George Hook from the rebel county chipped in.
BOD should have retired in May - this was no way for the greatest player of his generation to end his career - at the hands of a crap coach
— George Hook (@ghook) July 3, 2013
Then our ire was turned against the Welsh.
I agree with Gatland, though surprised he didn't bring in Tom&Aled Jones, Gareth Bale, Ryan Giggs, Timothy Dalton & Anthony Hopkins. #lions

In a way Brian O'Driscoll is partly to blame: he's won a few H Cups, a Slam, captained Lions, scored some tries but can he even speak Welsh?
— Katie Dawson (@katiedawson23) July 3, 2013
Former England player, Austin Healy, also took umbrage.
News.. Aled Jones leaves Daybreak to replace Corbisero in Lions Team.. Catherine Jenkins considered to replace Parling if she wears heels
— Austin Healey (@IamAustinHealey) July 3, 2013
And was joined by another England player, soccer this time, Joey Barton.
Shocked at @BrianODriscoll omission. Thought he was outstanding in the tour so far. Legend is a word used way too much. He truly is one.

But the man himself carried on with dignity.
Fair play to Brian O'Driscoll - just been dropped from Lions squad but still turns up to train local kids pic.twitter.com/nfDyDgDVzB

As did his missus.
Massively proud of my hubby.
— Amy Huberman (@amyhuberman) July 3, 2013
And some even managed to see the funny side.
Warren Gatland is an existentialist rugby coach. He doesn't believe in Bod. @brianmoore666
— Mark McFadden (@MarkMcFadden) July 3, 2013
Even those in D4….
Gatland, if you dropped that man in a dream, you should wake up and apologise.
— Ross O'Carroll-Kelly (@RossOCK) July 3, 2013
This is Irish rugby's Sampan. Or whatever that island was called where Roy Keane called Mick McCorthy a dick with ears.

In case you think we're exaggerating, look at the trends for Ireland on Twitter. (Jedward?)
And some of the reaction on the official Lions Facebook page.
