A Swedish man who set up a camera to discover why girlfriend's bike was being tampered with filmed another man pleasuring himself against the saddle.

Yes, this is a real news report.

The footage, published by Sweden's Kvällsposten daily, shows a vandal wearing a hoody, who appears to get his kicks from first piercing the tyres and then rubbing his man parts against the parked bike.

"I am not scared of him, but mostly irritated over all the punctures I have had to fix," Per Edström, who shot the footage, told the newspaper, according to a translation on English-language news site thelocal.se.

The footage was shot last week outside the couple's home in Östersund, northern Sweden.

Even more disconcerting - if it were possible to be more disconcerting than a man pleasuring himself with a bike saddle - is the fact that he seems to be holding a photo while doing so.

"My girlfriend finds it all a little concerning, you never know if he has checked her out in some way, and whether it is a picture of her he has in his hand when he is masturbating," Edström told Kvällsposten.

Police are investigating.
