Queen turns down invitation to Connacht semi-final
It’s a big weekend for counties Leitrim and London (!), with a place in the Connacht football final at stake come Sunday afternoon.
But one woman who won’t be there, unfortunately, is Queen Elizabeth – who perhaps has better things to be doing on Sunday afternoon than make a trip to Carrick-on-Shannon for 70 minutes of ferocious battle.
Two local councillors sent an invite to Buckingham Palace, thinking it would be fitting in the year of the Gathering.
Unsurprisingly, one is not too keen on coming over. Check out the response below.
