Police say no assault complaint made after Nigella Lawson pics

Police in England have confirmed that neither Nigella Lawson nor any other party has made a complaint of assault after pictures of her husband squeezing the TV chef's throat appeared in a Sunday newspaper.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police says officers from the Community Safety Unit at Westminster are carrying out preliminary inquiries following the publication of pictures of the celebrity chef and her husband in the Sunday People.

They appear to show Nigella being physically restrained by Charles Saatchi who has his hands around her neck as they sit on the terrace of a restaurant in central London.
